How to update Spybot - S&D

  1. Upon openning Spybot a main screen will be shown below

  2. Click on "Search for Updates" button. This will show you a list of servers to select from. Make sure the BN FileForum (Global) is selected and click the "Continue" button

    After the server is selected a list of file updates will be shown, select all of them and click on "Download" button

    Once the update has downloaded and installed you will need to click the "Exit" button

  3. After successfully updating the defintions the next process is to update the Immunisation database, which will display a message shown below.

    To update the immunisation database click on "Immunize" from the menu on left pane. This will run a scan automatically and say that no bad products have been blocked and requires you to immunise. Click the "Immunize" button and this will add all bad products to the immunisation database.

    Now you have fully updated spybot and you are ready to scan for known malicious programs
